Ravel’s Bolero, one of the most famous pieces of classical music ever written, provides the inspiration for this contemporary fusion of DJ remixed live orchestral music & choreography inspired by the regeneration of East London.
Celebrating the opening of the new DLR Stratford International extension this autumn, this spectacular event integrates an exhilarating fusion of dance & music against the backdrop of Canary Wharf’s breathtaking architecture. Bolero Remixed is choreographed by Jeanefer Jean-Charles with 100 local dancers from Eastlea Community School, Star Primary School, NewVIc, East London Dance Adult Performers Group and C-12 Dance Theatre. Featuring the New London Orchestra conducted by Ronald Corp and DJ Excalibah, Bolero Remixed invites you to experience the creativity and excitement of East London’s dynamic regeneration in action!
Bolero Remixed will provide a spectacular overture to this year’s Dancing City. The programme also features classic orchestral dance favourites by Tchaikovsky, Delibes and Prokofiev as well as new music by Ronald Corp featuring the Newham Welcomes the World Choir and New London Orchestra.
