C-12 Dance Theatre Auditions












JOB NOTICE: AUDITION- LONDON
February 11th- recall February 12th 2012

C-12 Dance Theatre is looking for highly physical and expressive professional male and female dancers with a minimum of 2 years professional experience for upcoming projects. Including two confirmed exciting outdoor productions.

Project 1: C-12 is looking for a lead male performer for their new outdoor production; The Van Man. Dancers must be trained in a variety of dance styles to a professional standard. Experience of urban dance theatre styles and parkour are preferable. Rehearsals are to take place in London and dancers must be available for all rehearsal and performance dates.

Rehearsal Dates: 20th-24th February, 5th-9th March, 12th-16th March, 26th/27th April
Performance Dates: 2nd/3rd May, 16th/17th June/ October and further dates to be confirmed
Fee: rehearsals are paid at equity rate and a performance day fee applies

Project 2: C-12 is looking for one female and two male dancers to work with Award winning Australian Choreographer, Shaun Parker, who will be choreographing a new outdoor work on C-12 Dance Theatre this spring entitled TROLLEYS. Dancers must be trained in a variety of dance styles to a professional standard, and experience of street dance, acrobatics and parkour are preferable. Applicants should have highly physical movement ability, break skills, good upper body strength, street gymnastics and be able to perform in a grungy acrobatic style. Rehearsals are to take place in London and dancers must be available for all rehearsal and performance dates.

Rehearsal Dates: 26th-30th March, 23rd-25th April, 7-11th May, 14th-18th May
Performance Dates: 18th/19th May, 30th June, 7th/8th July, 4th/5th August, 31st Aug/1st Sept, further dates to be added.
Fee: rehearsals are paid at equity rate and a performance day fee applies

The above productions are supported by the Arts Council England.

Project 3: C-12 is looking for a small number of male and female dancers to join the existing company, to be a part of various projects and performances over the next two year period.

JOB NOTICE: Dance Workshop Leaders



C-12 Dance Theatre is looking for professional dance artists with teaching experience for upcoming creative learning projects and delivery of workshops.

Dancers trained in a variety of styles are essential. Extensive experience of either one or all of the following: ballet, contemporary, jazz and street dance techniques. Other dance specialisms are welcome.

Teaching projects are predominantly located in Hertfordshire and East London areas; drivers are preferable, but not essential.

Current projects exist on Wednesday and Friday afternoons but a good availability and flexible timetable is important.

Need to be available for projects from 6th February 2012. Application Deadline: 30th January 2012.

Rates of pay: £20-£35 per hour depending on project/location.

C-12 Dance Theatre in 2012

Happy New Year from us all at C-12 Dance Theatre.

2011 was a fantastic year, filled with new adventures, new partnerships and experiences beyond imagaination.

C-12 continued to deliever high quality workshops and youth projects with schools, communities and youth groups including CanDoCo Youth company. "The Chair" completed the final part of the UK tour at Shrewsbury's Severn Theatre in April. During the summer C-12 were commissioned to create our first Dance On Film, "Suspect No. 4". The film was premiered at the final leg of Merce Cunningham Dance Company's last world tour, "Merce Circus".

C-12 will be involved in a number exciting projects in 2012.


Beginning with the partnership between C-12 Dance Theatre and Bridge Academy (a strong performing arts school in Hackney, London). C-12 will deliever a number of workshops and create a piece of dance theatre to be performed at the Hackney Empire. Funded by Hackney Council.

C-12 is off to Lincoln to deliver a series of workshops at Drill Hall, continuing the relationship with the company, a fantastic venue and schools in Lincoln.


"The Van Man" is the first ever Arts Council funded production, choreographed by Annie-Lunnette Deakin-Foster and produced by Adam Towndrow. This will be created from February - March and tour until October. Very Exciting!
