Creative Director and Co-Founder
of C-12 Dance Theatre, Nasae Evanson has stepped down his involvement with the
company with immediate effect, 19th Feb 2013. This decision was made on the grounds of
Nasae’s request to pursue personal projects but will continue to be supported
by fellow company directors Annie-Lunnette Deakin-Foster and Adam Towndrow for
his individual endeavours.
Nasae will be most fondly
remembered performing the lead character in The
Chair, C and duet, ONE. Evanson
pursued choreographic projects for C-12 Dance Theatre, including Breed, Stealth and Park Life, an outdoor production based around a sculpture at Potters
Field Park entitled Powder Blue by
Toby Paterson. Within his time at C-12 since 2005, he developed fantastic
relationships with East London Dance who have been fundamental in assisting
C-12 get to where they are today and Nasae also supported Wayne McGregor in
2012 during Big Dance
The name C-12, came from Nasae, a
science enthusiast. Nasae was the sole founding member when the desire took him
to start a company while completing his degree at Middlesex University. Nasae
asked Annie-Lunnette and Adam to be a part of his vision of creating
inspirational dance theatre that would create a new atmosphere into the
performing arts community. His passion
for young people and his personable nature was admired within the dance community
and to that end Annie-Lunnette and Adam would like to wish Nasae all the very
best in the future.
This shift in directorship will
see a slight change in roles with the company.
C-12 Dance Theatre is delighted to announce that Annie-Lunnette
Deakin-Foster will be the Artistic Director of the company and Adam Towndrow as
Creative Producer. Annie-Lunnette and Adam successfully received Arts Council
funding to create The Van Man in
2012, received funding from Without Walls to create and produce Trolleys choreographed by Award Winning
Australian Choreographer Shaun Parker in 2012, and most recently received Arts
Council funding to create a new indoor show Shhh!
in 2013. C-12 Co-founders set their sights high and are extremely grateful of
where they have come from, the journey this path has taken them on and are very
excited to begin a new chapter in their continued artistic adventures.
Nasae would like to thank Annie-Lunnette
and Adam for the love and support over the years and will always look back
fondly to C-12 and refer to that chapter of his life as a great adventure.
Kind regards,
