C-12 Dance Theatre presents the very first EMERGE.  It is a jam packed  evening of 3 new dance theatre works choreographed by up and coming choreographers Miranda Mac Letten and James Williams, plus a special guest choreography by Annie-Lunnette Deakin-Foster performed by C-12 Dance Theatre.

THE ENDEAVOUR TO BE SUPER
By Miranda Mac Letten

The work is a comical, high-energy performance based on the human psyche’s need to believe in something bigger than ones self. The vocabulary is based on Bob Kane’s 1960’s Batman series. Kane’s cape crusader’s overly exaggerated movements inspire much of the material. The sound track is influenced by Neal Hefti’s jazz arrangement for television and film in 1950/60’s brought up to date with an electronic twist.

In New Light
by James Williams
In New Light is a contemporary dance that is driven by a need to explore. Exploring the relationship between the dancer and Prop, prop and landscape and most importantly landscape and movement. Taking its roots from the ever expanding art of freerunning this work has a fresh relationship with the performance space that will give the audience a need, a want and a desire to explore.

Hell hath
by Annie-Lunnette Deakin-Foster
This is an extract of Hell hath is a new theatrical dance theatre choreography by Annie-Lunnette Deakin-Foster, performed by C-12 Dance Theatre and featuring eccentric and powerful female performers.  The concept of the work responds to the phrase 'heaven nor hell hath fury like a women scorned' from “The Mourning Bride” a tragedy play written in the 1600’s by William Congreve. The work features fierce, powerful & disgruntled women, focusing on individual and collective grief.
