C-12 @ The Swedish Dragon Fly Festival!
Date: August 29th, 30th and 31st
Location: Sweden
Commission: To perform on the main stage at this international festival
Choreographer: Adam Towndrow
Piece: One’s Enough (Girl Version)
Performers: Annie-Lunnette Deakin-Foster
Performing at the International Dragonfly Festival (Asarp, Sweden) with a debut version of One’s Enough with two female performers went down well on the main stage in between headlining bands on the Sunday evening. Being the only dance company to perform on the main stage, C-12 was a welcomed act for the diverse festival of music, dance and film weekend. Set in a luxurious nature reserve which included medieval huts, art installations in the surrounding woods and local produce feasts. This will be one for the calendar of 2009.

Potters Field Park Performance

Commission: To perform on a Toby Paterson sculpture, event hosts Portavilion
Choreographer: Nasae Evanson
Performers: Nasae Evanson, Tilly Webber, Raquel Gaviria, Fay Harvey and Jaquline Johnstone
This piece at Potters Field Park had a beautiful backdrop of Tower Bridge. Although the rain temporarily affected the start of the piece, it did not stop over 700 people come and watch this fast paced comedy and reflective choreography which reflected the people of London. Highlighting the diversity of Londoners with interactions of the people and with the sculpture. Using the sculpture as a playground, it highlighted the possibilities of enjoying the open spaces London has to offer with performers climbing up and walking across this 2.50 meter sculpture.

This is piece was performed for a youth platform competition. As part of this special guest appearance, to show what the young hopefuls were aspiring to dance like, Annie-Lunntte Deakin-Foster and Fay Harvey were asked to help judge the contest.

Hackney Empire Performance

Pieces: Roxanne, for the last time. Breed
Performers: Nasae Evanson, Annie-Lunnette Deakin-Foster, Jessica Spallis, Alex Drumm, Kim Clarke, Tilly Webber, Raquel Gaviria, Fay Harvey and Jaquiline Johnstone
The first was choreographed by Adam Towndrow. Titled Roxanne, for the last time, it explored the story behind the prostitute Roxanne, and followed her around until her eventual death. Strength and passion carried the story of love and hate which used a powerful and chilling cool blue lighting states with physical and contemporary movement and choreography.

Breed, choreographed by Nasae Evanson and with Avant Garde, this piece was fast flowing and was a mixture of contemporary and street choreography. It highlighted the diversity of the company, which included high risk lifts, jumps and sequences which meant the dancers needed to be on top of their game to execute.

Holland Park Performance

Performed by: Annie-Lunnette Deakin-Foster, Kim Clarke and Alex Drumm
It was a hot day on July 5th, and we had managed to get a large crowd of over 500 people to come watch this piece over the two performances, one at 14:00 and one at 16:00. Choreographed by Annie-Lunnette Deakin-Foster, the piece captured an abstract story of exploring ones insecurities people have with their bodies, acknowledging the mirrored 3 sides of the sculpture. Performed by Annie herself, Kim Clarke and Alex Drumm, this piece was a physical layered piece of shapes and dynamic solos, duets and trios.

We are looking for strong, versatile, contemporary dancers who are trained to a professional level or those with extensive performance experience. This is a closed audition, and only successful applicants will be invited to the audition. Open Dance Classes
The classes will be taught in a C-12 style, which includes contemporary technique with a fusion of various dance and theatre techniques. The class aims to improve fitness, technique, co-ordination, balance and confidence.
